We get to know Sheriff Donna a little better, which always makes me feel nervous, because on this show, the more we get to know a recurring character, the closer they are to death.
But! We start the episode with Dean catching Sam praying, and things get a little testy between the two beautiful brothers, but all I can think is that the boys are now dressing to match the bunker, and how cute they look walking down that hallway, all complimentary plaid and serious faces, and dammit, I love them.
*sigh*
The gist of the episode: A ghost is killing the dudes who “accidentally” killed him, and the real point of the episode, other than a reason to crack a lot of really dumb jokes, is that you should trust the people you love, take them at their word, and do what you can to help them, or you may be killed by a creepy, haunted bunny. Pretty much the theme of the whole series.
And we get to see Sheriff Donna work out some of her issues, and she looks great, and drops silly little Minnesotian gems along the way, and while her writing is a teeny bit weak this go around, Briana Buckmaster OWNS everything she does. Go find her visits at the Supernatural cons on YouTube, she is wonderful.
Also, I love that Sheriff Donna takes every opportunity to hug Sam and Dean, because what woman wouldn’t get in as much hugging as possible with those two boys?
Those smiles? That would be my smiles if I was hugging Sam and Dean.
Two things regarding the WInchesters: First, how many times have Sam and Dean been knocked in the head? Tons. I guess being dead and coming back maybe reset their brains, but being concussed that often is worrying. And second, it still makes me happy when the boys run towards danger. Have I mentioned this before? Honestly, a smile cracks across my face every time they do not hesitate to run towards danger. *sigh*
And continuing the idea of the boys working together this season, Sam finally tells Dean about the visions of the cage. I have one question for Sammy. What if that’s not God sending you those visions? What if it’s Lucifer? I mean, that seems more likely, since he’s already camped out in your noggin, and everything got shook loose once The Darkness was set free. Just saying, Sam. And Dean, you should be thinking about that too. BOYS, don’t be dumb, okay?
Quotes!
Too many bunny jokes to mention.
Donna: “Your life is one big poop storm, isn’t it?”
Next! Sammy’s imaginary friend from childhood comes for a visit. Of course Sam had an imaginary friend! Also, Sam and Dean in Dad sweaters! Nice. Directed by the great and powerful Richard Speight, Jr, AKA The Trickster, AKA Gabriel.
