Each year, Amazon offers up pilots for potential new dramas, comedies and children’s shows, taking viewer input to decide what shows to produce. The Man in the High Castle, based on Philip K. Dick’s novel, drops Friday. (The first two episodes are fantastic!)
Last year’s new show, Transparent, won 5 Emmy awards, including best actor in a comedy for star Jeffrey Tambor, who plays Maura Pfefferman, who was born Morton Pfefferman and reveals to his family that he has always identified as a woman.
This year’s crop of shows range from the serious to the quirky and it’s clear that Amazon is giving Netflix, HBO and Showtime a run for their money in the original programming arena.
This week, I’m reviewing the adult options (my boys are too old now for the kid’s shows, though If You Give a Mouse a Cookie looks adorable), with my thoughts on what should get picked up.
Let me know if you agree! And let Amazon know what you think.
