Well! That was new.
I am beyond thrilled to have the boys back on my TV. Honestly, after season 3, I would have never ever guessed we would be here at the beginning of season 11. That’s just crazy.
(Can you feel the BUT on the horizon?)
But, something was off for me in this season premiere. Maybe it was the ominous music that was playing under most of the scenes, or that there was something obviously wrong with Castiel in a way that makes me very unhappy, or that the old “Family Business: hunting things, saving people” thing was hammered so hard over our heads that we lost the general Winchester-y goodness I am so accustomed to… It certainly was not the Crowley bit, because that was hilarious and most welcome.
No worries, though. Not at all. I see what Carver and company were up to, and if that means an end to a whole season of Sam sneaking behind Dean’s back, and Dean’s being misery on a stick, then bring it on. I have made it very clear that I prefer those beautiful boys working together than not.
AND
We got some very interesting tidbits tossed out at us.
- The Mark of Cain doesn’t seem to go away, just live on/in another form.
- Were those zombies a consequence of The Darkness, or of Death being dead?
- Michael and Lucifer, anyone?
- And the forgotten brother, while not named, shall not be forgotten when any mention of The Cage, Lucifer, or Michael are brought up.
So, yeah, there is definitely some rich stuff touched on in the first episode of season 11, and I am looking forward to see where they take us this year.
