No, I have not forsaken the wonderful Winchesters. In fact, I was really excited to see what was in store this season. And you know what? So far, so good. Me likey. 🙂
Neat new opening title card, eh?
Okay, so I am killing some time here. The thing is, I haven’t had any time to write the recaps for the first two episodes. No.Time. But I just wanted to check in, and say that I really like the idea of fallen angels, and how they are effecting this world. I like that everything is sorta upside down and uncertain. After several seasons of those beautiful boys being able to call on their winged helpers to get out of jams, we are getting to see Sam and Dean use their noggins, their smarts, and to access their vast experience to figure out what to do next. Good stuff.
Plus! Prophet Kevin is getting good and cranky, Crowley is Crowley, and Castiel is somehow even more adorable and awesome now that he is human (or IS he?).
The only thing I am MEH about, is having Sammy being possessed by Ezekiel. Partly because Ezekiel was played by Tahmoh Penikett (Helo!!) until he jumped aboard the good ship Sam, and I wanted me some more Helo, and partly because we’ve got another round of Dean Keeps Big-Ass Secret From Sammy, which can get awfully tiring.
Also, anyone else notice how Sammy is so much more interesting as other versions of Sammy? Soulless Sammy was awesome, and ZekeSammy is pretty great too. Of course, when an angel is riding around with you, you get to be awesome like this:
I seem to be mighty impressed with the angel wings effect this year. 🙂 Anyhoo, this display was courtesy of ‘Zeke saving those beautiful boys from Abbadon and her minions. And I say YES to that whole storyline.
I will do my best to get it together and write an actual recap for this next eppy. Until then, enjoy your Tuesday night with the Winchesters!
