After a couple weeks of reruns, CBS’ new Hawaii Five-O returns Monday to answer the burning question: “Where is Mary Ann McGarrett?”

As I’ve noted in several recent blogs, Steve’s sister (played by Taryn Manning) hasn’t been seen since Episode 5. In a New Year’s message on her website, Manning writes:

“This next Hawaii 5-0 episode, ‘Ke Kinohi’ (Hawaiian for the beginning), will be an exciting one! It was an emotional but fun shoot, as Mary-Ann managed to get herself into quite a predicament. …”

For weeks I’ve joked that this secondary character must be on a milk carton somewhere, but in the CBS trailer for the Jan. 3 episode, we find out that Mary Ann has, in fact, been kidnapped. And it looks like the Five-O team will have its collective hands full coming to the rescue. Stay tuned.
